From Olives to Oil

Toasted Sesame Oil


Origin Japan. Toasted Sesame Oil is delicious for any stir-fry dishes.  Combine it with a little soy sauce, fresh garlic & ginger and marinate your beef, pork or poultry.  Use it as a finishing oil and drizzle over fried rice.  Combine it with FROM OLIVES TO OIL® White Balsamic Vinegar, a little sugar and soy sauce for a wonderful Asian vinaigrette for Napa or Savoy cabbage.  Sprinkle over broccoli, cauliflower, green beans or asparagus, then roast in the oven and finish with toasted sesame seeds.




Grilled Green Beans with Walnuts & Mushrooms


  • 1 lb. fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
  • ¼ c. walnut pieces
  • ½ c. fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 Tbsp. FROM OLIVES TO OIL® Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 2 Tbsp. FROM OLIVES TO OIL® Aged Balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp. season salt


Pre-heat grill to medium.  In a large bowl combine the green beans, walnut pieces and mushrooms. Drizzle the Toasted Sesame Oil over the vegetables and then splash on the Aged Balsamic Vinegar.  Season with season salt.  Toss well to combine.  Using a grill basket, grill the green bean mixture for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring several times. Yes, you will lose some to the grill but your loss will be rewarded.
